The last Empire VW Campers trip for the season was an excursion to Letchworth State Park, south of Rochester.
The weekend of Oct. 20/21 brought perfect conditions for camping & enjoying the scenery.
Here are some pics of the campsite:
Sherrie got along nicely with "the other woman"...
Sunshine daydream...
Foliage, river, & canyon wall pics:
Some kayakers:
Fall colors :
Hamsters out Cruisin' the Park!
Pics of "Our Baby" of course,& more scenery.
A huge railroad trestle near the lower falls:
Bridge Inspector!!
The Bus is visible here, in the upper right:
Parked at an overlook:
Hamsters driving off a CLIFF!!!
We took a trail down to one of the smaller waterfalls, where there's a footbridge, & more trails:
I think this is a Rip Van Winkle sighting (or maybe Big Foot).
Pics from the footbridge & surrounding rocks:
The Lower Falls:
The Mount Morris dam, at the end of the canyon:
In the morning, turkey vultures gather on the dam to warm themselves in the sun & stretch.
Once they're warmed up, they take off & ride the thermals over the canyon.
Awesome.
And, just a little bit creepy...
Next: Flower Power.
