Nick's Lake

About two weeks after Keuka Lake, we went to Nick's Lake State park in Old Forge.

In these pics we took with our cell phones (forgot the camera) you can see the campsite, me & Elmo having a Labatt's together, & an audacious red squirrel stealing crackers, then making a move on our bahklava!

Saturday , on our way into town, we met some accommodating & photogenic deer, & later we got to watch a beautiful sunset over the lake.

Sunday, we took the chairlift to the top of McCauley Mountain, where you can see the lower part of the Fulton chain of lakes, & hiked through a dwarf hemlock forest on the top of the mountain that was to pretty to be real. Very Tolkeinesque.

Keuka Lake Campout

At the Salt City show, we met some members of the Empire State VW Campers, an offshoot of VWCCNY, & learned that they were camping later in August at Keuka Lake State Park.

Of course, we couldn't resist.

The weather, overall, was clear (if hot) but we had thunderstorms Saturday night, which led to an awesome rainbow.

Some pics from the campout:
